Megan Freeman
Megan joined Balance Advisors in February 2021, after taking a break from the insurance to spend more time with her growing family. Prior to this Megan worked extensively in the insurance industry in various roles with insurance brokers such as Willis, AON and Ahlers in Whangarei.
Megan began her career with Ahlers in Whangarei, working in Personal Fire & General insurance, then moved to Australia in 2008 for a for a few years where she worked at AON assisting with commercial insurance. After deciding to move back home in 2010, Megan worked at Willis in Auckland, working in the commercial insurance area. In 2013 Megan moved back to Whangarei with her husband and their sons to be closer to family.
Megan prides herself on making sure you get the best possible advice and service. Forming strong relationships with her clients is something that Megan thoroughly enjoys with her role at Balance. Megan is an Associate of Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and is currently working towards completion of NZ Certificate of Financial Services Level 5.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys, going to the beach, fishing, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
Lee Reo
Lee specialises in helping you assess your financial situation and finds solutions to protect those you love.
Lee has been working in the financial services industry for 10 plus years and offers all personal and business insurance protection services along with additional financial strategies for you such as KiwiSaver, Wealth Builder and Income Generator.
In 2019 Lee joined Balance Advisors, bringing an eclectic mix of experience in management for office, small business and key accounts; along with administration in Trusts, accountancy, marketing and customer care. Lee has gained a myriad of experience and this challenges her to ‘think outside the square’.

Gareth Wallace
In 2001 Gareth moved to Whangarei. Gareth initially worked at FMG before setting up his own brokerage called Forte. However, within 12 months Gareth joined the Ahlers team, where he remained till 2015.
During this time Gareth learnt the trade of being a good, client-focused broker and advisor, whilst at the same time taking on other roles in the management of the business. Gareth was the Location Manager for Northland when Ahlers merged with ACM in 2008. Gareth was then appointed Branch Director of the Northland Branch when Crombie Lockwood purchased the business in 2012.
In late 2015 Gareth set up Balance Insurance Advisors and now provides insurance brokering from Northland to Auckland.
Gareth has a passion for delivering high quality insurance service. As he has learnt over the years, there is a huge amount of satisfaction and enjoyment that comes from making sure he gives clients great service and excellent advice which then builds long term relationships. It’s these client relationships that make all the hard work worthwhile.
Outside of work Gareth spends time with his children Carter and Zoe. He also loves watching great movies, playing darts or telling a few yarns with friends over a quiet ale.
