Carriers Liability Insurance
Carriers Liability insurance policy covers a carrier’s statutory liability under the Carriage of Goods Act 1979. This policy caters for: Limited Carrier’s Risk, Declared Value, Declared Terms.
Marina Operators Liability Insurance
Marina Operators Insurances covers the owner or operator of a marina against claims of negligence resulting in third party damage or injury.
Marine Cargo Insurance
Marine Cargo Insurance provides cover for goods in transit internationally and/or within New Zealand.
Marine Cargo insurance covers transits by road, rail and air, as well as by ship. Cover can be arranged for one-off specific transits or on an annual basis which provides automatic cover for all transits taking place within the 12 month period.
Marine Hull Insurance
Commercial hull insurance. Charter boats, fishing vessels or vessels such as dredges, barges and the like.
Marine Hull insurance provides cover for accidental loss or damage to the boat itself, including salvage costs, and third party liability insurance cover.
Private Hull (Pleasurecraft) Insurance
Private Hull insurance caters for Pleasurecraft while ashore, afloat or in transit within New Zealand.
The policy will normally include insurance on hull, furniture, fittings, sails, mast, rigging, inboard/outboard motors, trailer, and ancillary equipment. Personal effects included unless otherwise insured.
Importantly Pleasurecraft insurance covers legal liabilities, with standard limits of either $1m or $2m
Ship Builders Insurance
Provides cover for ship building, plus transit, launch and sea trials for pleasure or commercial craft.
Ship Repairers Liability Insurance
Ship Repairers or Marine Liability Insurance provides cover for any vessel and its accompanying equipment whilst it is undergoing repairs or maintenance.
Typically insurers will impose a predetermined notification period, and up to this point the policy will cover damage allegedly caused by the repairer’s negligence.
Ship Repair liability insurance also includes:
- Shifting and moving the vessel within the immediate port area, including trial trips;
- Loss or damage to cargo or other property on or discharged from the vessel being repaired;
- Removal of wreck;
- Loss or damage to third party property as a result of repair operations;
- Loss or damage to machinery or equipment removed from the vessel for the purposes of repair;
- Personal injury and loss or damage to third party property occurring in the course of or arising from ship repairing operations (but excluding cover by ACC).
